◎涅槃就是心的面貌,心的面貌就是實相無相。Nirvana is the appearance of the heart; the appearance of the heart is the true form of the formless.
◎時時明白覺醒,找到法的源頭。
Clearly aware from moment to moment, we find the source of reality.
◎積極關懷每一個生命,引導世界從衝突、對立走向和諧共生。
We need to be actively concerned for the welfare of every single being and strive to transform conflict into peace.
◎存好心、做好事、說好話,就是解脫的法門。Engaging in wholesome actions of body, speech, and mind, we pass through the gate of liberation.
◎養成奉獻的習慣,就是福氣的生命。
When generosity becomes second nature, happiness is sure to follow.
◎把身、口、意三好做好,就能給人歡喜、信心、希望、方便。
By being established in wholesome actions of body, speech, and mind, we are able to give others the four gifts—joy, confidence, hope, and skillful means.
◎愛心是生命中的潤滑油,生命中的快樂都是從愛心來的。
Love is the lubricant of life and the source of all happiness.
◎能夠觀照,分辨是非,遍知一切,即是智慧。
Clear comprehension of all things and the ability to distinguish between right and wrong—this is wisdom.
◎從戒裡規矩生活,從定裡不攀緣,從慧裡照見諸法空相。
Precepts bring an orderly life; concentration tames the clambering mind; wisdom reveals the emptiness of all conditioned things.
◎捨就是奉獻與服務,從捨裡面把心放下。
Donating your time and resources helps you let go of self-centeredness.
◎所謂的智慧就是我們的覺醒,覺醒就是不迷失在貪、瞋、癡的習氣裡。
Wisdom means awakening. Endowed with wisdom, we no longer get fooled by our habitual greed, hatred, and delusion.
◎在感情上用功的人,等於是在水中撈月、在假象上用心,永遠都是痛苦的。
Grasping at emotions is like trying to catch an image of the moon reflected in water; getting caught up in figments of the imagination always results in suffering.
◎外在的一切現象就像「詐騙集團」,人一不小心就容易被詐騙,找不到自己的心,看不到真正的自己。
The phenomenal world is like a fraud ring. If you’re not careful, it can easily fool you, so that you lose sight of your mind and lose touch with your true self.
◎受戒以後,輪迴的記憶體會重新解碼、淨化, 連結悲心善緣,轉化為善的種子。
Upholding the precepts purifies the karmic impressions which keep us bound to the wheel of life and death; through the combined force of compassion and wholesome affinities, these impressions can be transformed into wholesome seeds.
◎皈依佛、法、僧,就能找到永恆的生命與覺性, 走佛法大道,找回自性本心。
Taking refuge in the Triple Gem amounts to setting out on the path which leads to enlightenment, your essential nature, and eternal life.
◎心就是心,不要隨著外境、好壞、得失、美醜而轉。
The mind is just the mind; don’t let it be swayed by changing external conditions¬ ─ good and bad, gain and loss, beauty and ugliness.
◎心的光明是什麼?就是沒有迷惑、妄相與執著。What is illumination of mind? It’s the absence of confusion, delusion, and attachment.
◎人人做好心靈環保,建立善業,就能幫助地球平安。
Spiritual environmental protection means practicing goodness and caring for the Earth so that there may be peace.
◎生起善念,去除執著與分別,以清淨無染的心念,實踐成佛的菩提大願,這是最圓滿的供養與迴向。
Cultivate wholesome thoughts; eliminate attachment and discrimination; use the mind of purity to realize Buddhahood; this is the greatest contribution anyone can make.
◎「識」是分別心;「智」如日月遍照一切,能夠轉識成智,即是華嚴世界。
The mind of wisdom illuminates the entire world, just like the sun and moon; transforming the mind of discrimination into the mind of wisdom is to create the Avatamsaka Realm.
◎因眾生而生起大悲心;因大悲心而生起菩提心; 因菩提心而成就正覺。
The existence of sentient beings gives rise to great compassion; great compassion gives rise to bodhicitta; bodhicitta gives rise to enlightenment.
◎「自覺」就是讓自己不惑;「覺他」是讓別人不惑;「覺行圓滿」就是讓這兩個都圓滿。“Self-awakening”means making an end of confusion; “awakening others”means helping others to do the same; “perfection of awakening”means bringing both of these to completion.
◎行菩薩道是我們的願力;念佛是我們的方法。
Treading the Bodhisattva path is our vow; recollection of the Buddha is our practice.
